20 July 2026 – New "OOG Cargo Measurement" Order
Due to frequent deliveries of export containers carrying out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo without information in the system regarding dimensions of cargo protruding beyond the container's outline, BCT will introduce a cargo measurement procedure effective 27 July 2026. The absence of over-dimensional cargo data poses a direct risk to the cargo itself and to other containers during yard operations and vessel loading.
When OOG containers entering the terminal are identified, the availability of over-dimensional cargo data in the system will be verified. If such information is missing, BCT personnel will place the container on hold and notify the shipping line accordingly.
BCT reserves the right to apply the above procedure to containers leaving the terminal as well, following prior communication.
The hold will only be released after a "Measurement" order has been submitted in the Navis N4 system by the cargo owner or its representative. A BCT employee will measure the cargo within 48 hours and enter the correct dimensions into the OOG section of the system. The measurement fee, in accordance with the BCT Standard Tariff of Services, will be equivalent to one stevedore labor hour (Article 3, Item 6), plus the cost of updating the data in the system.
