The Baltic Container Terminal is one of the largest terminals in the Baltic region. It launched container handling on 29 October 1979. In May 2003, the BCT - Baltic Container Terminal was bought by the International Container Terminal Operator - ICTSI, which was licensed by the authorities of the Port of Gdynia to develop, operate and manage the container terminal in Gdynia. The license was granted for a term of 20 years. The ICTSI purchased 100 per cent of the Baltic Container Terminal.

The International Container Terminals Operator (ICTSI) is involved in the acquisition, development, management and operation of ports and container terminals around the world. The ICTSI was established in December 1987 in the Philippines. It is a leading operator among international container terminals. It has the ability to adapt to different operating environments and greatly enriches the asset value of supported terminals by increasing their performance at every level. The ICTSI has also proven its capabilities in matters relating to the privatisation process, expanding both developed and emerging economies.

BCT is one of the most dynamically performing container terminals in the ICTSI group and at the same time one of the largest container terminals in Poland.

Today, ICTSI Group operates in 19 countries, on six continents.
